“A Sudden Rush of Genius” [Selected Tracks]

In 2008, CESARE A.X. SYJUCO released a 15-track deluxe CD Album titled “A Sudden Rush of Genius”. Described by critics as “a twisted alterno/literary masterpiece”, the album/book was awarded The National Book Award, and has been praised as “a stunning achievement for OPM (Original Pilipino Music)”.

CESARE A.X. SYJUCO performs his experimental poetry in this rare video footage streamed from The Artist’s Hiding Place | Approx. 2:30 a.m. [exact date undetermined]

In 2007, CESARE A.X. SYJUCO formed 'The Electric Underground Collective' -- a congregation of artists collaborating on the sole purpose of bringing performance art, Spoken Word Poetry and experimental music to venues beyond the conventional. This video features various clips from the LIVE art performances that took place between 2007 and 2009, and features an audio track (“Is There Anybody Out There? Is There Anything Alive?”) from his award-winning album/book, “A Sudden Rush of Genius”.

CESARE A.X. SYJUCO performs his poem, "This Summer, I Watched the Trees Grow Out of My Head.," with the accompaniment of a harmonica. Spliced between 3 different venues (The University of Makati, The City Hall of Manila, and Mag:Net Gallery High Street), this video contains footage originally previewed on ANC News and other television news channels.

Punctuated with cunning irony and biting sarcasm, CESARE A.X. SYJUCO performs his poem, "There Is No Reason", with his iconic toy space gun and the use of a digital vocoder.

In this rare video footage from the closing event of his exhibition at the Main Gallery of the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines), CESARE A.X. SYJUCO performs his poem, "Commander James" to a packed audience comprised of art and culture enthusiasts, critics, writers, artists, scholars, students and the like.

Collaborating with sound artists Orville D.R. Tiamson and Blums Borres, CESARE A.X. SYJUCO performs his famous poem, "The Table of Zero", in this riveting proclamation on the inevitability of death.
